Built Quality
Both TWS offers good built quality. Like all TWS earbuds, they are also made of plastic. Be it the earbuds or the charging case itself.
Unlike others, the overall built quality is quite strong. There are panel squeaking or uneven designing to consider as a con.

It’s the BoAt Airdopes 141 whose built quality feels better. It’s more evident in the charging case hinges. It offers a satisfying click whenever you will close the case. On the other hand, BoAt Airdopes 170’s case (hinge) quality could’ve been better.
As far as earbuds go, both are strong and there are no sharp edges or uneven plastic that can hamper your listing experience.

Looks
The first visual change you will notice is the design of the cases. While BoAt Airdopes 141 has a square design, BoAt Airdopes 170 has a rectangle cum circular design.
As far as the looks go, both offer matte designs as a result they are not fingerprint magnets! Another good thing is the color schemes. Both Airdopes are available in 3 color schemes which give you a wide variety of colors to choose from.
Though both have 3 color options, BoAt Airdopes 141 with its dual-color nature makes the color more appealing. While Airdopes Airdopes 170 follows a more “blend in” kind of design language.
The second biggest difference is in terms of size. BoAt Airdopes 170 size is quite compact next to BoAt Airdopes 141. Hence there are more easily portable in the pocket without making a big bulge in your pants. Whereas, BoAt Airdopes 141 is thick and heavier.

Comfort & Grip
If you have medium to large ears then you will love both of these. Though they do not have ear hooks, they are comfortable to wear and are perfect for workouts. We did not encounter any issues during weightlifting, running, or cycling.
So for workouts, both get our thumbs up.
As far as comfort goes, you can easily wear these for long hours. Usually on weekends, we are on movie marathons and can easily rock these for more than 5 hours. So yes, they are comfortable to wear.

Features
Whenever we talk about BoAt, one thing where all boAt products shine is the features on offer. A few months ago when BoAt Airdopes 141 was launched it was the most features packed earbud under 1500 RS (other than volume controls, of course!).
BoAt Airdopes 170, being a new model offers even more features. Before that, Let’s talk about some common features.
Both earbuds come with touch controls, support for fast charging, IPX 4 water resistance, and a big battery. Another common feature is the IWP. Which essentially helps to connect with the paired device as soon as the lid is open. It works quite exceptionally on both.
So for the features, both are good but BoAt Airdopes 170 takes a new edge.
Both Airdopes come with game mode A.K.A Beast Mode. But the difference lies in the response time. BoAt Airdopes 141 comes with an 80 ms latency. While BoAt Airdopes 170 has just 50 ms. This difference is quite noticeable. Which is better? Head over to the gaming review below.

No! BoAt Airdopes 161 and 170 do not share the 13mm drivers. Both have very different sound profiles. But let’s focus on BoAt Airdopes 170 vs 141 in this comparison!
BoAt Airdopes 141 comes with 8mm drivers. While the BoAt Airdopes 170 packs in 13mm drivers. Does this make any difference? Yes! There are differences, but both are way better than the others and certainly great for the price.

Whenever BoAt launches a new TWS we are always skeptical about the call quality. Most of the time, call quality improves. But, at times, we have seen a drop in call quality. So what to expect from BoAt Airdopes 141 and 170?
The good news is call quality on both is great and there’s no difference. They are using the same ENx technology to cut the ambient sound. How good ENx performs?
The calls will have static-free vocals transfer, non-robotic voice, no far-sounding mic, etc. The overall call quality is great on both of these. Hence for calling, these get our approval.
And both BoAt Airdopes 141 and BoAt Airdopes 170 get similar 8.5/10 ratings.
Battery Backup
Usually, BoAt Airdopes are known for their features on offer and battery backup. This also holds true for both of these. Let’s now talk about battery claims and battery sizes. Afterward will talk about the real-world use case scenario.

if you are a hardcore gamer then you can expect anywhere between 3.5 to 5 hours on these earbuds (non-stop). While Airdopes 170 can go an hour extra!

Both Airdopes 141 and 170 support fast charging and you can pretty much use any charger with these. We do not use or recommend chargers beyond 20 watts. Not because it will damage the earbuds but because the fact TWS does not pull extra resources other than needed.
Hence the charge time will be anywhere between 1 hour and 40 mins to 2 hours.
