BoAt Rockerz 400 Vs 450 Built Quality
Though the internal specifications are almost identical, that can’t be said for the looks and built quality. BoAt Rockerz 400 has an old-school retro design of headphones. Whereas Rockerz 450 seems fresh with a minimalistic design. Both headphones offer glossy matte looks on the earcups as well as headbands. In terms of looks, you will not be disappointed with any of them. Looks are subjective in nature, but for us, boAt Rockerz 400 takes the cake.
The headphones are completely made up of good quality plastic and leatherette material on the ear cushions. The ear cushions are very soft and you’ll get a snug fit on both. Ear cushions on Rockerz 450 are slightly bigger in size. Therefore, in terms of softness and comfort boAt Rockerz 450 is better than the 400. Don’t get us wrong, 400 is quite good.
Both headphones offer different mechanisms while adjusting the headband. As you can see in the above picture, the boat Rockerz 400 has a black rod that is connecting the ear cups with the headband. This allows the earcups to be tilted a little for a better fit. Whereas, Rockerz 450 uses the plastic adjuster for the perfect fit. Just like boAt Rockerz 400, the earcups on Rockerz 450 can be tilted a little.
In terms of overall built quality, you will find boAt Rockerz 450 slightly on the better side.
Boat Rockerz 400 Vs 450 Audio Quality
In terms of audio quality, both are completely different from each other. The only similarity here is the 40 mm, audio drivers. As a result, a high amount of bass can be experienced on either of the two. If the bass is what you are looking for then both are equally good. Other than that, everything is different.
You will find a good level of detail with boAt Rockerz 400. Crisp audio, vocals clarity, and loudness, in general, is well taken care of. Even while listening to songs at full volume, the level of distortion is quite low. Unlike Rockerz 450, where audio distortion is quite evident near full volume.
On boAt Rockerz 450, the vocals and deep bass are great. At a reasonable volume near 80-85 percent, you will enjoy the audio quality. Above 85% the treble goes high and the bass reduces to modulate treble. So, boAt Rockerz 400 does it better!
If we have to rank, then boAt Rockerz 400 will get 8.5/10. Whereas boAt Rockerz 450 gets 7/10.
Microphone performance on both wireless headphones is decent depending on the surroundings. If you are in a closed room, then you can expect satisfactory calls. In terms of battery backup, both are great and will not leave you desired for more! You can easily expect around 6 to 7 hours of usage. On some websites and videos, battery backup of boAt 450 is mentioned as around 15 hours. This is misleading information. Both the headphones have a 300 mAh battery, then how battery backup can be different? The primary difference is Bluetooth 4.1 and 4.2. we don’t think they can cause such a difference.
The best part about both headphones is the compatibility of the aux mode. So when you are running low on battery or want to preserve it for a longer time then simply connect your phone with the 3.5 mm audio jack and get entertained.
Note:- When you are using aux mode, then Bluetooth cannot be operated on either of the headphones.
Aux mode will not only let you save battery but also will help you in a better gaming experience. Because Bluetooth headphones or earphones undergo latency issues i.e. audio/video sync issues while gaming. So you get the benefit of two at the cost of one! However, you will not get an aux cable in the box with boAt Rockerz 450. Whereas, Rockerz 400 has one of decent quality.
Since both the Rockerz has similar battery capacity hence the charging time will be around 2 to 3 hours depending upon the charger. We would recommend not using any fast or turbochargers as generally wireless headphones are not capable of it and discharge quickly.
