Built Quality (4.5/5)

Headphones between 2000-3000 Rs are hit-or-miss. The biggest weak link is the headband, which is plastic, and it breaks. And then the swivel/folding mechanism is not confidence-inspiring.
Fortunately, Soundcore H30i is very strong and durable. The headband adjuster is stainless steel, while the outer frame is plastic.
The earcups are moveable which adds more movable parts to the picture. The moment is smooth, and no squeaking has been observed in a month’s use.
The buttons are also good quality, though they might feel hollow or empty from the inside. You will hear a little spring movement, which reminds us of the Infinity headpones!
So to sum up, we are quite confident these headphones will have a long life. Hence, 4.5/5.
Looks and Feel(4.5/5)

This headphone looks and feels like the JBL Tune 510BT (Our Review). The black matte theme with no Soundcore text branding on the headband adjuster.
You will find Soundcore branding only on the ear cups under the silver circle throughout the ear cup on both ear cups, making it look very neat and premium.
The left side of the headband has EU markings inside, which is quite neatly done. On the right, we have the pause/play button, volume up and down, aux-in, and a Type-C charging slot.
The headband adjuster is also silver, which adds a black and silver combination to the headphone.
On the scale of 5, I would give Soundcore H30i a solid 4.5/5.
Soundcore H30i Review – Comfort (4.5/5) & Grip (4/5)

Generally, on-ear headphones are more gym and workout-friendly than for long hours of extreme comfort. However, Soundcore H30i is very different and is the best of both worlds.
In the first few hours with these headphones, you will feel that they are putting a lot of pressure on your ears with high clamping force.
That’s how on-ear headphones behave. While over-ear headphones rest on the skull or around the ear.

After 30-odd minutes, the headband starts adjusting to your head size. And then, Soundcore H30i becomes quite comfortable for 3 to 4 hours of daily use.
In the past, we’ve covered some on-ear headphones, and this is certainly very good.
This will enhance the comfort. Also, the fabric below the headband helps to add more comfort. I have tested these for 3+ hours on a single use, and they were fine.
One more thing, this is the most comfortable on-ear headphone we can give you. Very similar to the JBL Tune 510BT (our review).
At just 183 grams, the headphone feels very lightweight & compact. As a result, the grip is quite decent too. You can walk, jog, or even do some lightweight training without sliding the headphones to your neck!
Sure, with sweat, the headphones will lose grip, and it happens with headphones. But you can use this at the gym without worrying much.
The only thing you need to take care of is water resistance, as there’s none by the company. I have worn these daily to the gym for about 20 days, and sweat was prominent. A little dab with a dry cloth after a workout session worked like a charm.
If you like compact and lightweight headphones that can be used for 3 or 4 hours, then you can pick these.
Otherwise, for longer hours, you would be better off with Over-Ear headphones like Hammer Bash Max (Our review)
Soundcore H30i Review – Features (5/5)
#1 Replaceable Earcups: Soundcore H30i comes with replaceable ear cups, which help to maintain hygiene as well as longevity, as you can swap the ear cups with new pads. This solves the biggest problem, as the earcups’ fabric starts to wear off with daily use as well as moisture.
#2 Dual Bluetooth Connectivity: Playing around 2 devices? No problem. H30i can stay connected with 2 devices. So you got a call on the phone while watching a movie on a laptop? No problem! Just press the play||pause button to accept the call.
#3 App Support: Soundcore app is free to download/use and supports Android & iOS. Via the app, you can change between 20+ EQs, create a custom EQ, update support, or add/remove a paired device.
#4 Dual Mode: With this headphone, you can connect via Bluetooth, which consumes battery, or opt for aux-in to enjoy louder output without consuming battery at all! It’s not a new thing, but surely dying as most brands only offer Bluetooth connection or go the completely wired way.
#5 40mm Drivers: On-ear headphones generally have smaller drivers than Over-Ear headphones due to their compact design. But does it mean it lacks quality? Here’s the answer.
#6 Up to 70 Hours Battery Backup: With 40mm audio drivers, Soundcore claims about 70 hours of overall playback. The headphone also supports quick charging. So what can you expect? Well, we did our testing, and here are the results.
Sound Test (5/5)

Soundcore H30i has a bass-heavy sound signature out of the box, which makes it ideal for a bass-heads. Along with the bass, the vocals are very clean too. Treble is well-tuned along.
The default sound is, by default, the best. And the great news, there’s no audio distortion at any volume. Also, the headphones have very little to no audio leak. Even if someone is very close in the Metro or bus, they will not be able to hear a thing.
The overall sound profile is good. You can feel the instrument separation, the bass kicking in, the overall loudness, and the clarity, making it a good headphone.
The same applies to a room. While testing the audio leak, there were hardly any votes for the leak. Hence, if you want a safe headphone without audio leak even at max volume, then Soudncore H30i needs your attention.
If you think the bass is high, you can create an EQ as you like. Or select one from the 20+ default EQs for convenience. To be honest, the Rock and Bass-Bosted are the best ones.
As far as loudness goes, it is fairly loud and does not cause any discomfort even at max volume. If you are coming from BoAt headphones, you will feel a little quieter. But the moment you switch to aux-mode, the loudness increases by 30%.
To be honest, under 2000 Rs, the Soundcore H30i is among the best souding headphone with possible customization options too. Hence, I would give it 5/5 for audio output and quality.
Mic Test (4.5/5)
We have tested quite a few headphones under 2000 Rs, and they sound average. Since at that price, brands are already offering other features like bigger drivers and batteries.
We were really impressed with the JBL Tune 510BT and Hammer Bash Max. Similarly, the Soundcore H30i is on the same level.
What impresses is the mic sensitivity. It can pick up your voice even if you are whispering or speaking slowly. Second, the voice doesn’t feel robotic or AI-tuned anyway. It’s raw vocals just like your phone’s microphone.
We have tested this headphone indoors, outdoors, on a busy street, as well as in public places, and the output was good.
So what happens in a busy and loud place? Well, then the headphone struggles. The person on the call will know your surroundings, as there’s no AI tuning or ENC to cut the ambient noise. But your voice will be kept in the center.
These headphones can handle your calling or mic needs far better than most headphones in this price range.
With that in mind, we will give it 4.5/5.
Battery Backup (5/5)

As per Soundcore, H30i claims up to 70 hours of battery backup. Not just that, it also supports quick charge, hence 10 minutes of charge means 4 hours of playback. So, what kind of battery backup can you expect? Here are different scenarios.
Under extreme use like 100% volume, Dual Devices Connected, media consumption, calling, gaming, etc, draining the battery is hard and takes very long.
You can expect up to 5 days of battery backup under extreme use cases. Just lowering the volume to 80% can easily let you hit 1 week of battery backup.
For moderate use, you can expect about 30% battery drop over 6 hours of use. Be it calling or media consumption. So taking online meetings or online classes will not be an issue.
As for charging, the headphone features a 500 mAh battery and can be fully charged in under 2.5 hours, irrespective of the charger used. As the headphone is locked at 5 watts & 2 amps charging. I use a 20-watt charger. [verify]
Since it supports quick charge, with just 10 mins plugged in, you can use it up to 4 hours. Don’t have 10 minutes before leaving? Just carry the aux cable and go the plug-and-play route. No battery drain!
Hence, for battery backup, I am very happy because it’s an on-ear headphone but behaves like a big and heavy over-ear headphone. As a result, here’s a 5/5 for battery backup and charging.
Soundcore H30i Gaming Experience (4/5)
The brand claims up to 40ms low latency, which, on paper, makes it quite interesting. Wireless headphones are not ideal for gaming, even for casual stuff. And since the headphones have aux-in support, things can be interesting. Well, yes, they are.
The 40ms latency has no toggle to on or off; it stays on all the time, and while gaming, you can feel it.
Games like COD Mobile, COC, and NFS No Limits are totally playable. Enamiy footsteps, left-right balance, and communicating with the clan are not a problem either. Overall, the gaming experience is good.
If you wish to take it to the next level. Opting for aux-in helps! It not only reduces the latency but also increases the volume by 30%, which is a nice thing as you can concentrate more.
So, for gaming, I would give Soundcore H30i a solid 4/5 for Bluetooth mode and 4.5/5 for wired.
Wrapping up!
After 1 month of use, I can confidently recommend the Soundcore H30i to you. It offers great built quality, fine looks, decent comfort, while being a gym-friendly headphone which sound very good, along with clear calling capability.
Doing all this while staying away from the charger for a very long time. The brand claims about 80 hours of playback. While it can tick off most of the things, it has some limitations too.
First, it is an on-ear headphone, which makes it lightweight and travel-friendly, but at the cost of a small design. Hence, wearing these on a beanie cap or turban is not ideal.
Second, if your use case involves more than 5 hours of use on a single go, then going with Over-Ear headphones will be better. Rest, everything seems fine with this headphone, and on a budget under 2000 Rs, it’s actually very good.
