Soundcore K50i Pros & Cons

Built Quality (5/5)

Soundcore has done an incredible job in terms of build quality. It’s evident the moment you hold the case or the buds in hand. Feels like a 2000 Rs or more worth of TWS.

The case is very strong. Magnetic hinges are very strong. The buds do not fall off if shaken or upside down. There’s not a single squeak while pressing the case.

Similarly, the buds are soft and have no ruff edges. Even if you press the buds do not squeak. Surprisingly, this TWS comes with a pre-applied lanyard, which helps to have a strong grip on your wrist or just swing around when bored!

Overall, for built, it’s a 5/5 TWS on a budget.

Looks (4/5)

In terms of looks, it’s basic and subtle. No flashiness or chrome anywhere to be seen. Not even RGB lights. If you like all the above, this is not the one for you.

Otherwise, it’s a normal “blend-in” type of TWS case. Similarly, the buds are simple too, either white, black, or blue as you choose. Additionally, the case offers a matte color scheme, which is good at hiding scratches.

The lanyard does make this TWS different from others, and people stare at it to know “what this thing is”. Yes, people don’t know how useful or what a lanyard is!

The buds also have a similar matte design to the case. But you will find some glossiness on the inside. The stem is decently sized and has the Soundcore logo on both earbuds.

If you like plain and simple design, then you would love these. For me, it’s a little too simple, hence 4/5.

Soundcore R50i Review Comfort (4.5/5) & Grip (4/5)

If you have medium to large ears, these earbuds will be comfortable for hours of use. I have worn these maximum up to 4 hours, and they were perfect. No pain or discomfort.

Do earbuds with silicone ear tips not suit you? Then, you should avoid these. Because all the ear tips fit medium to large ears only. Not ideal for small ears.

As per grip, these are also good. I do gym and these were quite grippy. With sweat, they do tend to lose grip. For regular outdoor use like walking or running, these do not fall off. You can confidently wear these.

But if you do work out when sweating is prominent, then you can opt for BoAt Airdopes 141 (Review) or BoAt Airdopes 141 ANC (Review).

Features (5/5)

Soundcore has done their homework and have given budget-centric users what they have been asking for very long time! And that’s app support along with volume controls! Yes, that sounds cool isn’t!

With the Soundcore app, you can pair an Android as well as an iOS device and take advantage of the 20+ EQs, game mode, touch control customisation, and so much more, like finding the earbuds and future proofing with updates!

Along with that, you have Bluetooth 5.3 for past pairing. 10mm audio drivers that are quite common in this price range, and here’s our audio breakup. Dual mic for better call quality. IPX5 Water resistance.

Another unique feature of Soudcore devices is the White Noise, along with AI Brainwave Audio. If you don’t know White Noise, it is a combination of all audible frequencies that create an environment. This tune is soothing music that lets you focus on something like meditation or when you are having difficulties while sleeping.

This series of music lets you relax and ultimately takes you to a happy place. You can set it for a particular time between a few minutes to hours.

Battery-wise, Soundcore R50i has a 400 mAh case along with buds having 40 mAh each. Brand claims up to 10 hours of continuous playback and up to 30 hours of overall playback. Here’s the battery backup and charging section.

So, for features, I don’t think we are missing anything major. Hence, 5/5!

Soundcore R50i Sound Quality (4.5/5)

As for audio quality, the 10mm drivers are phenomenal! You will enjoy the moment you hit the first song. The default sound profile is balanced to the center, bass-heavy signature with detailed vocals and good treble. Even if you hit the max volume, there’s no audio distortion or breaking that we experienced.

If you think the bass is high, you can select between 20+ presets. For the most part, the default EQ is the best-tuned, along with the bass-boosted one.

You can confidently use this TWS for media consumption or listening to podcasts. When bass is missing, the vocals take the lead.

Overall, audio quality is great, and Soundcore has done a phenomenal job of tuning these earbuds. Be it Punjabi music, Hip Hop, Classical, or even Sufi, you will enjoy every bass drop on these.

Hence, Soundcore R50I gets a massive 5/5!

Mic Test (4/5)

If you like your voice to be as real as it is in real then this is the one to buy. There’s no AI or ENC to tune and make your vocals sound muffled or less sharp by removing the background noise. All you get is the real, raw vocals of your voice with ambient noise.

I am aware the brand talks about AI, but I did not notice much fine-tuning. And that’s how I like it!

I take calls indoors and outdoors, and the person on the call was able to guess where I am. But, they did not guess whether I was on the phone or wearing headphones!

If you need tws with ENC to filter background noise, then you can opt for BoAt Airdopes 141ANC (Review).

Soundcore R50i Battery Life And Charging (4/5)

The brand claims up to 10 hours of battery backup on a single use and can deliver up to 30 hours of overall battery backup. The Soundcore R50i battery mAh is 400 for the case, while the buds have 40 mAh each.

If you are a regular user who plugs in to take classes and puts the back in and then vibes on some songs or watches Reels or Shorts, then you can expect about a week’s battery backup.

These claims are at 100% volume and a mix of calling, music, and gaming. Depending upon the charger used, you can have the buds and the case fully charged between 1 to 2 hours.

We use a Moto 20-Watt charger, and within 1 hour and 20 minutes, the case and buds are fully charged. If you are willing to try something new and worthy, then Soundcore is a new strong competitor.

Soundcore R50i Review Gaming (4/5)

Earbuds claims to have lower latency, and at PadhkeDekho, we never go for numbers; we put it to the test! The same happened with the Soundcore R50i. Just make sure to enable gaming mode for an even better experience.

My game list includes mobile games like COD Mobile, Real Racing 3, COC, and a little BGMI. And on PC, COD 5, GTA 4, GTA 5, Mafia 2, and CS with friends.

So, how the gameplay experience? Very consistent throughout. No lags, audio stutter, or even delay while gaming or media consumption. The phones I used are the Moto Edge 40, the iPhone 13, the iPhone 16, and the iPhone 16 Plus.

Note: Based on your phone’s Bluetooth version, performance will vary. As per my experience, I enjoyed playing games with the Soundcore R50i.

Be it the headband or earcups you will feel like it’s a premium product. Other than fabric, you will feel some plastic for headband adjusters & tilt mechanism. The adjusters have a common slid-in and-out design with 8 levels of adjustments. So far the headband adjusters work fine and there’s no squeaking or panel plastic noise. Just below the headband, you will see the tiltable earcups. Thanks to the design, you can flat out the earcups and rest them on the neck or in the backpack when traveling. On the right ear cup, you will see the touch controls & single button to control media or accept or end the call. It’s quite a neat headphone. What about durability? This headphone has visited the gym a few times, jogging sessions, late-night movie marathons, ruff handling, etc. and it’s in implacable condition. Sure, we will test it more and keep updating the article as time passes. So at the moment, the built quality is quite good and Hammer Bash Max gets a 9/10 in this department. Looks (10/10) Hands down, Hammer Bash Max is the best-looking headphone under 3000 Rs. Starting from the ear cups the headband design is very futuristic. The fabric on the headband (the top and bottom offer different designs) makes it look very premium. It shows attention to detail. The ear cup fabric speaks of quality. It is a soft and breathable material that snugs so well that you will not wish to remove it even after long sessions. We’ve talked more about it in the Comfort section. We bought Cool Grey color and the overall color scheme feels like a 5000 Rs headphones. It also comes in Apricot and Black color as well. Hammer has not offered any color combination, it’s pure single color but the plastic and fabric combination gives it a remarkable presence. I liked the “fake leather” treatment on the earcups fabric Hammer Bash Max looks great so here’s 5/5 for that! Comfort & Grip (9/10) When it comes to comfort nothing beats Over-Ear headphones. This statement is true for Hammer Bash Max as well. The ear cup padding is very soft, the fabric on the headband generates a firm grip and the best part is the clamping force, It is so firm that the headphones rest around the ears with utmost comfort. Since the earcups have tiltablity, you will find your sweet spot the moment you wear these. Hammer Bash Max is a very comfortable headphone that you can easily wear for 4+ hours. So if you are looking for an over-ear headphone that you can wear for long hours without a single minute of discomfort, this is the one to get. What about workouts or gym use? You can wear it to the gym. The clamping force is high and the headphones stay on even during high-intensity movements. I do a lot of cardio activities and it did not fall even once. It’s a different breed of over-ear headphones that check marks for comfort & grip during workouts. So, Hammer Bash Max gets a solid 9/10 for comfort & workout-centric nature. Features (9/10) #1 Dual Bluetooth Connection: Hammer Bash Max can be paired to two devices simultaneously. This is a great feature if you switch between two devices quite often. So, you are watching a movie on your laptop and get a call on your phone. You can accept it and take the call via the headphones. #2 Touch Controls: Usually headphones have physical buttons to increase/decrease the volume, move to the next track, or repeat. But Hammer added touch controls to this headphone and things are working quite well. You will need to spend some time before getting used to it. But before that please remove the sticker for an even better response. #3 Full-Tiltable Headphone: The headband allows 90-degree revolvable ear cups. As a result, you can tilt the earcups completely 90 degrees and lay the headphones straight in your bag pack. This helps in better space management during travel. Also, it will enhance comfort if you keep the headphones on your neck during travels. #4 Bluetooth 5.3: Under 3000 Rs many headphones offer Bluetooth 5.0. But the latest version is 5.3 and that’s what Hammer offered. We are not saying 5.0 is bad, but we have experienced better reception with a higher Bluetooth version of audio gear. As a result, we did not face audio breaking or disturbance even when the paired device was about 5 to 6 meters away in the bag while I was working out. #5 IPX3 Water Resistance: When a headphone can be used in a gym or for jogging some amount of water resistance is a must. Because water can cause damage in the long run with the Hammer Bash Max, you get IPX3 water resistance that will allow you to focus more on the workout than the water damage! Audio Quality (8/10) This is the first time we’ve tried Hammer headphones and it is good. Hammer Bash Max comes with a 40mm audio driver. As you know, we never boast an audio gear with the driver size as it is just marketing. What matters is how good the quality of the driver is. Let’s talk about that. The very first thing you will notice is the distortion-free sound signature. Yes, we’ve tested a variety of songs, podcasts, media content, etc, and nothing baffled the audio drivers. Kudos to Hammer for that. The overall audio quality is crisp and full of detail. The vocals, instruments, and trebles are the strong suit. The bass is decent, certainly not a bass-heavy headphone. You will enjoy media consumption or listening to music. Though the sound signature is good we felt the loudness could’ve been better. if you are coming from Infinity or BoAt headphones you will feel the volume is around 80%. This is not bad! Because it makes Hammer Bash Max a headphone with no audio leak you can wear it anywhere without worrying what people will “think” about what you are listing. We had never been so confident about headphones in the outdoors. So to sum up, the overall audio quality is quite good with plenty of details in vocals, instruments, and even trebles but the bass is decent not the best. Call/Mic Quality (8.5/10) Most headphones offer a microphone but only a few are good for taking calls and Hammer Bash Max is on it! Though there’s only a single microphone on the right earcup it picks up voice quite clearly. There will be no complaints of static disturbance or low volume from the other person on the call. Moreover, the mic is so responsive it picks up your voice even if you whisper. Since there’s no ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) mic picks ambient noise. Hence, if you have a lot of disturbance or people talking loudly in your proximity it will be transferred as is. During our testing of the mic indoors as well as outdoors, we found it quite good and did not have a single network disturbance or interference. So for calling, Hammer Bash Max gets an 8.5/10. Battery Backup & Charging (8/10) Over-ear headphones are known for their battery backup and Hammer Bash Max is no expectation either! It packs in a 500 mAh battery and can provide juice for about 18 hours. So, what are the real-world figures? You can expect anywhere between 12 to 15 hours even with Dual Bluetooth Connected Devices and max volume. If you use headphones for 2 hours a day, expect a little over 1 week. Everyone has a different listing pattern so can’t predict an “exact” number, however, if you prefer to listen to music at around 60 to 80% volume, then you will move closer to the claimed figures. In terms of battery backup, you will not be disappointed. However, you should also know that there’s no provision for aux-in. This means you will not be able to use this headphone as a wired headphone. This can be a deal breaker for many, so choose accordingly. So with lightweight, we have no issues with the battery backup. Thus, Hammer Bash Max gets 8/10. What About Charging? Hammer Bash Max comes with a USB-C cable and supports fast charging too. Though, that’s not mentioned anywhere on the website. On the user manual, it says to use 5V/1A voltage. I guess using a higher-powered charge can damage the battery. However, for the past 4 months we have been using a 20-watt charger, it reached from 10 to 100% in 2 hours and 10 mins. You can get even better results with 40 or 60-watt chargers. Do not worry it will not damage the headphones. New chargers are smart they “only” send “current” the headphone or audio gear can handle. if you are a casual user who uses headphones for 2 to 3 hours a day, you will be fine for a week. So we do not mind the battery backup. There could have been an aux-in mode. Should You Buy Hammer Bash Max? Yes, if you are looking for a comfortable headphone. Other reasons to buy it are the premium built quality, best in-hand feel, workout friendly, good mic for calling, overall good audio quality, dual Bluetooth connection, and more than a week’s battery backup! Why you should not buy Hammer Bash Max? There’s some latency during gaming and the lack of “aux-in” does pinch being a gamer. Another reason is bass. It’s decent but certainly not a bass-heavy headphone as the brand claims. As far as warranty goes, Hammer gives only 6 months of warranty which you should also know. With all the pros and cons, we think Hammer Bash Max is a good headphone for the price especially since the build/feel are the biggest highlight. On the same note, the earbuds offer fine-built quality while being lightweight compared to other brands’ TWS for similar prices which is good for people who demand comfort. Maybe because of the lightweight? On the subject of built quality, the cable provided is good too. It has BoAt branding. It’s great they did not pack any random cable from the market and called it a day. So in terms of built quality BoAt Airdopes 141 gets an 8.5/10. Looks In terms of looks, BoAt Airdopes 141 has a matte design language. We picked up the white color and it looks fabulous. Be it the case or the earbuds themselves. For the features, BoAt Airdopes are good but most of them miss one feature that’s available on Mivi and Noise earbuds, and that’s volume controls. BoAt Airdopes 141 Audio quality While testing audio gear, I wait till I can get my hands on BoAt products. It’s because of their sound signature. It’s nothing out of the world but the tuning is perfect. Airdopes 141 offers bass-heavy frequency, clear vocals, and decent treble with ample loudness. if you listen to Punjabi songs and the bass gets your adrenaline pumping, nothing will come close to Airdopes 141. Any bass-heavy song will hit differently on BoAt Airdopes 141. This reminds me of the OnePlus Buds Z which got stolen in the Metro. if the bass is not your thing, you will fall in love with the vocals and instrument separation on these. At any volume, you will not find any audio distortion. This is a big step up from BoAt Airdopes 161. You will have a great time listening to music or watching movies. It’s the most balanced TWS we’ve tested so far. Gaming Performance When it comes to gaming, I always prefer wired headphones simply because of less latency. if you don’t know latency is a delay of audio & video synchronization. When you are playing any fast-paced game like Call of Duty Mobile, etc. the video and audio will not sync properly as a result gunshots will be delayed for a few milliseconds. Not just that, footsteps, changing gun noise, switching between sprinting and walking. So the overall experience hampers a lot. Users like that you can’t change it. So getting audio gear that the brand recommends for gaming should be considered. Since Airdopes 141 comes with Beast Mode, is BoAt Airdopes 141 good for gaming? Yes, BoAt Airdopes 141 is good for gaming thanks to the Beast Mode. It helps reduce the latency up to 80ms making the overall experience enjoyable. Even if you do not enable the Beast made the latency is quite low and can be used to play gamers. So BoAt worked on the gaming which BoAt lacked a while ago. Therefore for gaming, we would give it 8/10. Mic Test We’ve always had mixed feelings about the mics on BoAt Airdopes. Recently, we covered the best BoAt Airdopes you can buy and talked about this. The thing is, not all BoAt Airdopes have good microphones. Out of 10, we found only a few that can be used for calling. So what about BoAt Airdopes 141 mic quality? Well, it’s great for the price.
