Built Quality (9.5/10)

Even though it’s a budget TWS from OnePlus, it is still for 2000 Rs. Where does the built quality stand? Well, it’s on top!

Let’s start with the case, it’s soft, good-quality plastic without a wobbly opening/closing lid. Even if you press the case hard, there’s no panel pressing or squeaking.

The lid has a strong magnetic hinge that opens smoothly with one hand. The charging agents are quite strong, too the buds don’t fall even if you turn them upside down. Inside, left and right markings are done nicely.

Let’s talk about the buds. Just like the case, there are no rough edges, hence you can wear them for a long.

Best Built TWS Under 2000 Rs
OnePlus Nord Buds 2R Built Quality

Overall, the build quality is great, and there are no compromises to make. It feels like a strong TWS earbud, which costs 2800 to 3500 Rs.

Hence, here’s 9.5/10 to the OnePlus Nord Buds 2R.

Looks (8.5/10)

OnePlus Nords Buds 2R White Color
OnePlus Nords Buds 2R White Color

Unlike the OnePlus Nord Buds 2, the 2R has a pixelation effect on the case. This feels like the OG OnePlus 5 phone with that sandstone feel, which makes it unique in terms of design. On the other hand, the case is quite big. I’ve switched from BoAt Airdopes 141ANC and can feel it.

The buds, on the other hand, are very small and compact. Here’s a closer look. They are so thin that sometimes they fall while taking them out. Sure, within a few hours of use, you will get used to it.

As far as design goes, the case as well as the buds are matte. The only glossy thing is the ONEPLUS logo on the case!

We bought the White color and liked the dual color scheme inside the case and the buds.

For the looks, it’s certainly a “fresh” look of the buds but the case is slightly bigger to my liking. Hence, for looks, the OnePlus Nords Buds 2R gets 8.5/10.

OnePlus Nord Buds 2R Review Comfort & Grip

Gym TWS under 2000 Rs
OnePlus Nord Buds 2R For Gym

These are comfortable to wear for long hours. I’ve personally tested for 5 hours. Other than sweat, there was no pain or even discomfort. One point to note is that Nord Buds 2R is for people with medium to large ears.

if you have small ears or earbuds with silicone that do not fit properly, avoid this. Instead, check out these options that we’ve bought and tested under 2000 Rs.

The design of the earbuds is quite well, and the silicone ear tips are soft; as a result, you can wear these comfortably. Hence, for comfort, OnePlus Nord Buds get 9/10.

The story is similar to Grip. You can wear these for gym sessions or walking, jogging, running, or cycling. These buds do not fall out. Sure, with sweat, you might need to readjust these. But overall, they stay put.

So, to sum up, you can wear these to the gym and enhance focus on workouts with music.

OnePlus Nord Buds 2R Features (8.5/10)

OnePlus Nord Buds 2R offers a feature that most of the TWS brands don’t talk about. That’s Dual Bluetooth pairing. You can connect your phone as well as your laptop to one device and switch between devices within seconds. One point to note is that it does not stay connected to two devices simultaneously.

You can also install the Hey Melody app on your OnePlus or Android phone. It gives audio customizations or EQ modes, plus an option to design your own. Moreover, you can customize the button controls. There’s a dedicated Game mode that can be enabled from the app.

If you have an iPhone, then sorry! You cannot do any of the mentioned activities even though the app is available on the App Store.

OnePlus Nord Buds 2R shares the 12.4mm audio drivers with the OnePlus Nord Buds 2, which means the audio quality has to be great, right? Here’s more about the audio quality.

The bigger audio driver might dry out the buds quickly. No! OnePlus claims up to 38 hours of total playback. But is it possible? Here’s our battery drain test!

Unlike many other TWS earbuds that are still at IPX4, the OnePlus Nord Buds 2R comes with IP55 Water & Sweat Resistance, which means you are in good hands during workouts and no need to be scared of sweat.

Even though the OnePlus Nord Buds 2R misses on ANC, it still uses a quad-mic setup (2 mics on each earbud), which can help in better mic performance. Here’s our mic test.

So, as for features, OnePlus Nord Buds 2R packs in a few great ones and ditches a few as well. Therefore, here’s 8.5/10.

OnePlus Nord Buds 2R Audio Quality (10/10)

OnePlus Nord Buds 2R Audio Quality
OnePlus Nord Buds 2R Audio Quality

It’s the best-sounding TWS under 2000 Rs, out of the box; you don’t need to make any changes to the EQ. It’s spot on. Be it vocals, bass, treble, and instrument separations. We’ve never been this confident with any TWS under 2000 Rs.

It should be the first choice for bass lovers. It has that boomy punch which Indians love at any audio level. The vocals are on the next level. Be it any genre you are grooving on, the vocals are crisp like the singer is in front of you.

Trebles and instruments are great too. You will experience different instruments even if you listen to your go-to playlist. Be ready to be wowed!

We are not boasting it for the sake of saying it. It is truly remarkable. It’s the first time we have ever given full marks to any audio gear.

Even the loudness is great. Be it at any volume you are grooving on, you will not find a single sign of audio distortion or audio breaking unless you are listening to lower codec music! Personally speaking, listening to max volume is tough on this one!

With the Hey Melody app on your Android device, you can select between 3 predefined EQs or create a custom one. Though we did make a few changes, but kept on going to the default mode, it’s perfectly tuned for bass heads.

If you enjoy music, the OnePlus Nord Buds 2R is the one to grab. Here’s 10/10 for audio quality.

Mic Quality (8/10)

OnePlus Nord Buds 2R offers a quad mic setup, meaning each bud has two mics instead of one. So does this help? On top of it, OnePlus has used ENX technology to cut ambient noise around you. So, how true are these claims?

After taking 100s of calls over a month, it’s good, not great! It is as good as any earbud with ENC, but the output is decent next to ANC earbuds. Indoors, the calls are better. Due to less movement, the mic picks up your voice clearly, and the job gets done.

Outdoors, the mics were able to cut out the great ambient noise. However, the final output is way too processed for my liking. What does this mean? To cut the ambient noise, the earbuds edit your voice so that the output does not have noise in the background.

In other words, call quality lacks sharpness; instead, bass is added. So, for call quality, the OnePlus Nord Buds 2R is good as many earbuds with ENC are, but if calling is your top priority, then the OnePlus Nord Buds 2 (Review soon) needs your attention.

Battery Backup (9/10)

As per paper specs, the OnePlus Nord Buds 2R can be used for up to 38 hours and up to 8 hours on constant use. Similarly, the carry offers 480 mAh while the buds have 36 mAh each.

So what kind of battery backup can you expect? Well, it’s great and you will not have battery anxiety! Let’s talk numbers.

If you crank up the full volume and use the buds for 3 to 4 hours, you can expect about 1.5 weeks of battery backup! We tried to hit 6 to 7 hours of battery backup on every use and that’s possible if you lower the volume to 60 to 70% volume. Even then, you can hit more than a week’s battery backup.

As far as charging goes, it supports fast charging too. With a 20-watt charger, these get fully charged in under 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Hence, for battery backup and charging, it will not disappoint! Here’s 9/10 to OnePlus Nord Buds 2R!

OnePlus Nord Buds 2R Review: Gaming Performance

Wireless earbuds or headphones are criticized for bad gaming output due to the latency. If you don’t know, it’s the delay between the sync of audio and video during video playback or even gaming.

On some earbuds, it’s more noticeable, while others handle it quite well. Some brands mention their latency in ms which is milliseconds. The lower the number, the better the latency will be, thus better gaming. But this is not right all the time.

We’ve tested a few “gaming tws” and frankly speaking, they were just marketing and no show. So don’t just go behind the number and make your call. Always check detailed reviews like those at PadhkeDekho!

Where do the OnePlus Nord Buds stand for gaming?

The latency is quite low, though not mentioned by OnePlus, so with our experience, it’s anywhere between 40 to 50ms. We did not feel lag during 4K content screening, hardcore gaming sessions, and video calling. The devices used were the iPhone 13, iPhone 15, and Moto Edge 40.

Overall, gaming performance is good. To enhance it, the Hey Melody app offers a dedicated gaming mode that adds more performance, say about 20 to 30% on your Android phone. Since iPhones don’t support the Hey Melody app still the gaming performance is still good. Be ready to experience lag-free gaming.

Out of 10, we will give the OnePlus Nord Buds 2R 9/10.

Should You Buy OnePlus Nord Buds 2R?

If you are looking for the best-sounding tws earbuds under 2000 Rs that pack good features, build quality, looks, comfort, call quality, and battery backup, then you are making the right choice! It’s a perfect value TWS with no major cons. We recommend the OnePlus Nord Buds 2R.

That’s not all, the gaming performance is quite good too, even without turning on the gaming mode. You can play any sort of game without much latency.

Overall, it’s a no-brainer choice and ticks marks most of the users out there. However, there are only two things that you should know.

If you have an iPhone, you will be able to use it; however, the Hey Melody app does not pair with the OnePlus Nord Buds 2R, and the second is the dual device connection.

It connects to “two devices” but does not “stay active” on both. The movement you switch to the other device, it gets disconnected from the first one. Which does not solve the purpose that I was looking for.

The next best alternative is OnePlus Nord Buds 3 (Review). It covers up all the shortcomings of Nord Buds 2R and adds ANC along with volume controls!

So these are the reasons why you should buy the OnePlus Nord Buds 2R and avoid them. I hope you have found this OnePlus Nord Buds 2R review helpful. Please share it with others looking for a great TWS under 2000 Rs!

That’s a Wrap!

If you are looking for comfortable over-ear headphones that you can wear for long hours, this is the one to buy! Other than comfort, the looks are quite spectacular too! What about other things? Well, here’s the Hammer Bash Max Review after 7 months of use! It packs everything a headphone around 2.5k should have like; USB-C Charging, Mostly fabric body, premium looks, Dual Bluetooth connection, etc. But still, there are many things that we experienced in the past 4 months. So let’s talk about that. If you are new to PadhkeDekho, we use a product for a month before publishing our statistics. All the testing was done indoors, outdoors, during transit, and in all the other places where users use headphones so that our readers get the best information. In this Hammer Bash Max review, you will learn about the Pros and cons, Specs, Unboxing experience, Built Quality, Looks, Comfort, Features, Audio Quality, Mic Quality, Battery Backup, and finally, our verdict on whether you should buy it or not. With that said, let’s begin the Hammer headphone review with pros and cons. Be it the headband or earcups you will feel like it’s a premium product. Other than fabric, you will feel some plastic for headband adjusters & tilt mechanism. The adjusters have a common slid-in and-out design with 8 levels of adjustments. So far the headband adjusters work fine and there’s no squeaking or panel plastic noise. Just below the headband, you will see the tiltable earcups. Thanks to the design, you can flat out the earcups and rest them on the neck or in the backpack when traveling. On the right ear cup, you will see the touch controls & single button to control media or accept or end the call. It’s quite a neat headphone. What about durability? This headphone has visited the gym a few times, jogging sessions, late-night movie marathons, ruff handling, etc. and it’s in implacable condition. Sure, we will test it more and keep updating the article as time passes. So at the moment, the built quality is quite good and Hammer Bash Max gets a 9/10 in this department. Looks (10/10) Hands down, Hammer Bash Max is the best-looking headphone under 3000 Rs. Starting from the ear cups the headband design is very futuristic. The fabric on the headband (the top and bottom offer different designs) makes it look very premium. It shows attention to detail. The ear cup fabric speaks of quality. It is a soft and breathable material that snugs so well that you will not wish to remove it even after long sessions. We’ve talked more about it in the Comfort section. We bought Cool Grey color and the overall color scheme feels like a 5000 Rs headphones. It also comes in Apricot and Black color as well. Hammer has not offered any color combination, it’s pure single color but the plastic and fabric combination gives it a remarkable presence. I liked the “fake leather” treatment on the earcups fabric Hammer Bash Max looks great so here’s 5/5 for that! Comfort & Grip (9/10) When it comes to comfort nothing beats Over-Ear headphones. This statement is true for Hammer Bash Max as well. The ear cup padding is very soft, the fabric on the headband generates a firm grip and the best part is the clamping force, It is so firm that the headphones rest around the ears with utmost comfort. Since the earcups have tiltablity, you will find your sweet spot the moment you wear these. Hammer Bash Max is a very comfortable headphone that you can easily wear for 4+ hours. So if you are looking for an over-ear headphone that you can wear for long hours without a single minute of discomfort, this is the one to get. What about workouts or gym use? You can wear it to the gym. The clamping force is high and the headphones stay on even during high-intensity movements. I do a lot of cardio activities and it did not fall even once. It’s a different breed of over-ear headphones that check marks for comfort & grip during workouts. So, Hammer Bash Max gets a solid 9/10 for comfort & workout-centric nature. Features (9/10) #1 Dual Bluetooth Connection: Hammer Bash Max can be paired to two devices simultaneously. This is a great feature if you switch between two devices quite often. So, you are watching a movie on your laptop and get a call on your phone. You can accept it and take the call via the headphones. #2 Touch Controls: Usually headphones have physical buttons to increase/decrease the volume, move to the next track, or repeat. But Hammer added touch controls to this headphone and things are working quite well. You will need to spend some time before getting used to it. But before that please remove the sticker for an even better response. #3 Full-Tiltable Headphone: The headband allows 90-degree revolvable ear cups. As a result, you can tilt the earcups completely 90 degrees and lay the headphones straight in your bag pack. This helps in better space management during travel. Also, it will enhance comfort if you keep the headphones on your neck during travels. #4 Bluetooth 5.3: Under 3000 Rs many headphones offer Bluetooth 5.0. But the latest version is 5.3 and that’s what Hammer offered. We are not saying 5.0 is bad, but we have experienced better reception with a higher Bluetooth version of audio gear. As a result, we did not face audio breaking or disturbance even when the paired device was about 5 to 6 meters away in the bag while I was working out. #5 IPX3 Water Resistance: When a headphone can be used in a gym or for jogging some amount of water resistance is a must. Because water can cause damage in the long run with the Hammer Bash Max, you get IPX3 water resistance that will allow you to focus more on the workout than the water damage! Audio Quality (8/10) This is the first time we’ve tried Hammer headphones and it is good. Hammer Bash Max comes with a 40mm audio driver. As you know, we never boast an audio gear with the driver size as it is just marketing. What matters is how good the quality of the driver is. Let’s talk about that. The very first thing you will notice is the distortion-free sound signature. Yes, we’ve tested a variety of songs, podcasts, media content, etc, and nothing baffled the audio drivers. Kudos to Hammer for that. The overall audio quality is crisp and full of detail. The vocals, instruments, and trebles are the strong suit. The bass is decent, certainly not a bass-heavy headphone. You will enjoy media consumption or listening to music. Though the sound signature is good we felt the loudness could’ve been better. if you are coming from Infinity or BoAt headphones you will feel the volume is around 80%. This is not bad! Because it makes Hammer Bash Max a headphone with no audio leak you can wear it anywhere without worrying what people will “think” about what you are listing. We had never been so confident about headphones in the outdoors. So to sum up, the overall audio quality is quite good with plenty of details in vocals, instruments, and even trebles but the bass is decent not the best. Score Card ValueVocals9.5/10Treble9/10Bass7.5/10Overall Loudness8/10Overall Clarity9/10Best Buy LinkAmazon Therefore, Hammer Bash Max gets 8/10. Call/Mic Quality (8.5/10) Most headphones offer a microphone but only a few are good for taking calls and Hammer Bash Max is on it! Though there’s only a single microphone on the right earcup it picks up voice quite clearly. There will be no complaints of static disturbance or low volume from the other person on the call. Moreover, the mic is so responsive it picks up your voice even if you whisper. Since there’s no ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation) mic picks ambient noise. Hence, if you have a lot of disturbance or people talking loudly in your proximity it will be transferred as is. During our testing of the mic indoors as well as outdoors, we found it quite good and did not have a single network disturbance or interference. So for calling, Hammer Bash Max gets an 8.5/10. Battery Backup & Charging (8/10) Over-ear headphones are known for their battery backup and Hammer Bash Max is no expectation either! It packs in a 500 mAh battery and can provide juice for about 18 hours. So, what are the real-world figures? You can expect anywhere between 12 to 15 hours even with Dual Bluetooth Connected Devices and max volume. If you use headphones for 2 hours a day, expect a little over 1 week. Everyone has a different listing pattern so can’t predict an “exact” number, however, if you prefer to listen to music at around 60 to 80% volume, then you will move closer to the claimed figures. In terms of battery backup, you will not be disappointed. However, you should also know that there’s no provision for aux-in. This means you will not be able to use this headphone as a wired headphone. This can be a deal breaker for many, so choose accordingly. So with lightweight, we have no issues with the battery backup. Thus, Hammer Bash Max gets 8/10. What About Charging? Hammer Bash Max comes with a USB-C cable and supports fast charging too. Though, that’s not mentioned anywhere on the website. On the user manual, it says to use 5V/1A voltage. I guess using a higher-powered charge can damage the battery. However, for the past 4 months we have been using a 20-watt charger, it reached from 10 to 100% in 2 hours and 10 mins. You can get even better results with 40 or 60-watt chargers. Do not worry it will not damage the headphones. New chargers are smart they “only” send “current” the headphone or audio gear can handle. if you are a casual user who uses headphones for 2 to 3 hours a day, you will be fine for a week. So we do not mind the battery backup. There could have been an aux-in mode. Should You Buy Hammer Bash Max? Yes, if you are looking for a comfortable headphone. Other reasons to buy it are the premium built quality, best in-hand feel, workout friendly, good mic for calling, overall good audio quality, dual Bluetooth connection, and more than a week’s battery backup! Why you should not buy Hammer Bash Max? There’s some latency during gaming and the lack of “aux-in” does pinch being a gamer. Another reason is bass. It’s decent but certainly not a bass-heavy headphone as the brand claims. As far as warranty goes, Hammer gives only 6 months of warranty which you should also know. With all the pros and cons, we think Hammer Bash Max is a good headphone for the price especially since the build/feel are the biggest highlight. This is the most premium headphone you can get under 3000 Rs. Is it the best for audio quality? Well, yes, if bass is not your only parameter. Out of 10, the Hammer Bash Max gets an 8.5/10 from us.
