Under 2000 Rs, most of the headphones are made of plastic. Only the quality of plastic differs. Where do these headphones end up? Well, both headphones are completely made up of good-quality plastic, we can give you that.

But BoAt Rockerz 400 takes the build a little more seriously. The headband adjusters are metal unlike Rockerz 450 which is just plastic. This is quite prominent when folding both the headphones. Rockerz 400 inspires more confidence. Though none of them produce any squeaking noise.

Hence for Built Quality, we will give more marks to BoAt Rockerz 400 than BoAt Rockerz 450.

BoAt Rockerz 400 vs 450 Usability

Both headphones offer different mechanisms while adjusting the headband. As you can see in the above picture, the boat Rockerz 400 has a black rod that connects the ear cups with the headband. This allows some tiltablity for the ear cups. Whereas, BoAt Rockerz 450 ear cups can be tilted as much as you like.

So this means BoAt Rockerz 400 folds as well as some little tiltablity is present. While BoAt Rockerz 450 can be folded but offers more tiltablity.

Hence BoAt Rockerz 450 is more practical than Rockerz 400.

Comfort/Grip

The ear cushions are very soft and you’ll get a snug fit on both. However, the clamping force is very different.

if you don’t know laming force is the force that the headphone applies to hold your head and form a grip. The more the claiming force the better the grip but poor the comfort. So which one of these is better for what?

BoAt Rockerz 400 has more claiming force which means it’s good for gym use or when you will be moving a lot. Whereas, BoAt Rockerz 450 has a firm clamping force which makes it versatile for both comfort as well as workouts.

Though the internal specifications are almost identical, that can’t be said for the looks. BoAt Rockerz 400 has an old-school retro design of headphones. Whereas Rockerz 450 seems fresh with a minimalistic design.

Both headphones offer glossy matte looks on the earcups as well as headbands. In terms of looks, you will not be disappointed with any of them. Looks are subjective, but for us, boAt Rockerz 400 takes the cake.

But it’s hard to ignore that BoAt Rockerz 450 comes in more than 12 shades of colors and themes based on Marvel as well as DC. So you get better options to choose from. If there’s an award that can be given to a headphone for good-looking color schemes and themes then BoAt Rockerz 450 gets that!

While BoAt Rockerz 400 comes in only two colors; Black and Neon. We bought Neon and certainly looks different but does not carry the “blend in” type of looks!

Hence, if we have to pick one we would get the Black color for BoAt Rockerz 400. But for BoAt Rockerz 450, it can be either Black or the Acqa Blue.

BoAt Rockerz 400 Vs 450 Audio Quality

In terms of audio quality, both are completely different from each other. The only similarity here is the 40 mm, audio drivers.

This 40mm driver is known for its bass reproduction. As a result, a high amount of bass can be experienced on either of the two. But which one is better? It takes the turning further in and makes BoAt Rockerz 450 a better choice if you are looking for a bass-heavy headphone. Other than that, everything is different.

You will find a good level of detail with boAt Rockerz 400. Crisp audio, vocal clarity, and loudness, in general, are well taken care of. Even while listening to songs at full volume, the level of distortion is quite low.

On boAt Rockerz 450, the vocals, instruments, and deep bass are great. At a reasonable volume near 80-85 percent, you will enjoy the audio quality. Above 85% the treble goes flatline and the bass overpowers the treble.

This detuning of treble on BoAt Rockerz 450 is done to compensate for more bass. BoAt could’ve detuned the vocals or the trebles and they did well with the treble otherwise the audio quality would’ve taken a massive drop.

If we have to rank, then boAt Rockerz 400 will get 8.5/10. Whereas boAt Rockerz 450 gets 7/10.

BoAt Rockerz 400 vs 450 Call Quality

Microphone performance on both wireless headphones is decent depending on the surroundings. If you are in a closed room, then you can expect satisfactory calls. However, when you are outside both of the headphones tend to capture background noise as there’s no ENC (Environmental Noise Cancellation).

So which one takes better calls?

It’s BoAt Rockerz 450. Simply because of no static disturbance. We surely received a few complaints that background noise is high etc, but never had a complaint of static disturbance which is quite present on BoAt Rockerz 400.

We tried a few different models of Rockerz 400 and there was no static. Maybe our unit had that issue. With that in mind, we are selecting BoAt Rockerz 450 as a better choice for calling.

Note: If you need a good pair of Bluetooth headphones for calling then go with Infinity Tranz 710 or the Infinity Tranz 700. Infinity Tranz 710 is the newly replaced model for Infinity Glide 510. While Tranze 700 is the replacement for Infinity Glide 501.

BoAt Rockerz 450 Vs 400 Battery Backup

In terms of battery backup, you will not be disappointed! Both headphones offer 300 mAh of juice to play with. You can easily expect around 6 to 7 hours of usage with BoAt Rockerz 400. And with Rockerz 450 it’s a few more hours around 12 to 14 hours.

Though both have similar battery sizes, the audio drivers are dynamic on the Rockerz 400 while it’s adaptive on BoAt Rockerz 450. This also drains more juice. Another reason is the Bluetooth 4.1 instead of 4.2 on Rockerz 450. Which can also be a factor.

The best part about both headphones is the compatibility of the aux mode. So when you are running low on battery or want to preserve it for a longer time then simply connect your phone with the 3.5 mm audio jack and get entertained.

Note:- When you are using aux mode, Bluetooth cannot be operated on either of the headphones.

Aux mode will not only let you save battery but also will help you in a better gaming experience. Because Bluetooth headphones or earphones undergo latency issues i.e. audio/video sync issues while gaming. So you get the benefit of two at the cost of one! Earlier models of BoAt Rockerz 450 did not come with an aux cable, but now in 2023, there’s an aux cable in the box.

Though battery backup is different the charging time will be around 2 to 3 hours depending upon the charger. We would recommend not using any fast or turbochargers as generally wireless headphones are not capable of it and discharge quickly.

So you can pick one as per your liking.

Which One Should You Buy?

Both headphones have their pros and cons so you need to sort out your preferences.

Things that are common in these are the battery backup, 40 mm audio drivers, aux mode, portability, look and feel, and mic performance. Both the pair have passive noise cancellation that helps in reducing the outside noise to some level. So if these are what you are looking for then you can go ahead with any of the two.

But if audio output comes in your essential list then going with boAt Rockerz 400 will be a better choice. The only thing that can stop you from buying boAt Rockerz 400 can be the retro looks.

BoAt Rockerz 450 is for someone who needs a fresh-looking pair of headphones with good built quality and even better comfort than the Rockerz 400. The audio quality of boAt Rockerz 450 is solid however you will have to manage overpowering bass. One way can be to reduce the volume to 85% and enjoy the vocals as well as instruments and top-of-the-line bass in the price category.
