Iphone 16 VS iPhone 16 Plus Built Quality
In terms of built quality, iPhones are always top-notch! Be it the display, buttons, frame, glass, etc, it is just perfect. I have been an Apple user since iPhone 4 and since then all the phones (except the iPhone 6) had amazing built quality.
The 16 and 16 plus are different from the Pro and Max series, and that’s because of the aluminium/ glass built over stainless steel, which is also known as titanium, as per Apple. I use an iPhone 13 (review) without a case and you can check the review here for the latest pictures.
So, to sum up, build quality, iPhones do not give up easily in terms of hardware unless dropped! Wilol not take your time about built as we all know Apple is good there.

Looks & Design Difference
Apple iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are visually almost the same with the only size/dimention difference.
Like in the picture, iPhone 16 is smaller with a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus is quite similar to Android flagships’ 6.7-inch display. What impact will it have on your user experience?
Apple iPhone 16 will be comfortable to hold and use for long hours. I tried to carry both without the case, and it was convenient on the iPhone 16 but not with the iPhone 16 Plus. So, if you intend to use a phone without a case, go with the iPhone 16.
Apple iPhone 16 Plus is for people with large hands, and it takes time getting used to if you are upgrading from smaller-screen iPhone like iPhone 13 or 15 or even SE3.
Even typing experience is different. The rest of everything is the same with button placement, charging port, etc.
Apple iPhone 16 vs iPhone 16 Plus Display Differences
The biggest difference lies in the display. Apple iPhone 16 has a 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus features a 6.7-inch screen. Because of this, the iPhone 16 Plus has more pixels to accommodate.
The difference is not marginal, guys! You get more magnified and eye-soothing icons and text on 16 Plus. Since it has a big display, watching content like movies or Reels feels more immersive.
The same can be said for watching personal photos and videos.
For productivity, Plus does feel better while typing and reading emails or Reddit posts. Requires less scrolling and even fewer typing errors!
But all this comes at a cost (literally!). Apple iPhone 16 Plus is 10,000 Rs more expensive than the regular 16 and 20,000 more than iPhone 16E.
And let’s talk about something that took me time to like. As the iPhone 16 Plus has a 6.7-inch display with a 60Hz display, I felt some animations were slow and gave the impression that it was working slowly.
Though it was not true. I did a speed test many times, and both were similar. It was more prominent when I switched to iPhone 16; it feels like a sports car. So if you felt the same, odds are the Plus model is taking time to get used to.

Battery Backup and Charging
Size, screen, and battery are the only differences between the 16 and the 16 Plus. Let’s talk about the battery now.
Apple is known for not sharing the mAh values. Thanks to this website, we can see that the iPhone 16 Plus has 4674 mAh battery while the iPhone 16 has 3561 mAh.
So, does this bring changes? Yes, it does, and it’s massive. My personal phone is still an iPhone 13, and I keep switching between 16 and 16 Plus as per need.
So the use case is mostly emails, Instagram, YouTube, Netflix, or other streaming services, and tons of meetings and calls.
With this use case on my iPhone 16, I could set the day at 1:00 AM with 40% battery, and by 2 PM it will reach the red zone and put it to charge.
Whereas, with the same tasks, my iPhone 16 Plus ends the day with 60% battery at 1:00 AM, and around 8:00 PM of the next day, it asks for charging.
Similarly, for charging, I use Apple’s 20-watt charger, and the time consumption is also different.
With 20 20-watt charger, iPhone 16 charges from 20% to 100% under 2:00 hours. While iPhone 16 Plus takes a little over 2:30 hours.
If I put my iPhone 13 to the same test with the 88% battery health. It ends the day with 30% at 1:AM battery, and in the morning it drops below 20%.
So, for battery backup iPhone 16 series is not bad. But if you need the most juice for the day or 2, iPhone 16 Plus is the choice.
What About Accessories in Local Shops?
In local stores, iPhone 16 Plus accessories are limited and are very expensive. A normal case and tempered will cost you more than a 1500 Rs. If you know someone for the best deals, then stick to them or order online! The same story with privacy-tinted glasses.
Whereas iPhone 16 is the new iPhone 13, so much is available that it gets hard to select or reject! At pocket-friendly prices.
If you are case centric and hand to have different classes for different occasion, most generic ones lack quality and for designer or car brands specific ones are very simple and basic.
Maybe after a few months things change? But it’s been three months and still nothing cool or unique pops up. Thought to share this as well as many people don’t talk about it.
What I think After 3 Months of Use?
If you are confused between the iPhone 16 and the iPhone 16 Plus, this is what I think.
Since there are only 2 differences, like the bigger display and longer battery backup. If these mean a lot to you, then only go with the iPhone 16 Plus.
Do keep in mind that carrying an iPhone 16 Plus is not as easy as it is big. Does not fit properly in the jeans pocket, and it’s heavy at around 198 Grams without the case. With the case, it’s not only heavy but thick, while being so long.
On the other hand, iPhone 16 does all the things that 16 Plus does while being a single-handed iPhone. Also, iPhone 16 is very convenient to type, record, or even edit Reels and videos.
There is no other way to say this, but if you are buying an iPhone 16 Plus just to outrank people with iPhone 16 or 16E, save some money and go Pro. It is totally worth it. Otherwise, go with the iPhone 16; which is a capable phone.
What About Other Things?
Rest, everything is shared between the two phones. Like cameras, processors, RAM, iOS support, speakers, earpiece, etc.
What about it? These are pretty good. The iPhone 16 series is very successful because they have fine-tuned everything perfectly.
If you need a phone for gaming? 16 series is good for that! Need a video camera for vlogs or live streams? Nothing (not the brand) comes close to iPhone video. Don’t believe me, check other creators.
Yes, over time, Premium Android phones have improved their cameras, but iPhone photos still look the same. I am not biased, I give credit where it’s due.
But for video? I will stick to iPhone.
